Chef Ty is the ultimate Personal chef!
I love his dishes !!!

The food is interesting and satisfying. The  dishes are complex but simple enough that the palette is not overwhelmed.

His demeanor is such that you feel that you have a friend over cooking for you yet he always maintains proper decorum.

Finally the kitchen is always spotless when he leaves. He even offers to mop
The floor. I don’t take him up on that but. That’s the kind of guy he is
If you want a wonderful culinary experience hire Chef Ty. You won’t be disappointed. In fact you will be checking your calendar to see when you are able to have him over again

How could I not provide you with an exemplary testimonial after the delicious, professional, and perfectly serviced dinner party that you managed, all by yourself, for me and seven of my friends. 

From the first course of mini crab cakes with orange mango relish and asparagus cucumber slaw that were not only amazingly flavorful, but so beautifully arranged on the serving plates, that I almost did not want to eat them. 

Nonetheless, the five course fantastic combinations that you put together and prepared to perfection were impossible to resist, and I think that that was clearly apparent by all of the totally cleaned plates at the end of the night. And despite the fact that all of my guests could not stop themselves from cleaning their plates, the speed and care that you demonstrated in the post-dinner clean-up was way beyond expectations, and very thoroughly appreciated. 

The entire cost of the dinner was well below what it would have cost to take 8 guests out to a restaurant that serves the same high quality cuisine as you, and your service is unparalleled to any that attempts to bring such class and taste to a private party with expensive pallets.

I forgot that Ty was a Chef. After the first time that we worked together, I began to view him more like a friend. After hiring him a few times, he just became family in my mind. That's what him working with (not for) me has been like.

As far as his food goes I have to say that for a Chef who hasn't ever been a big deal restaurateur, he really does bring some skill to the table. But more importantly than his impressive skills are his creativity! I have not had from him any dish that I had before and, unless I specifically ask him for a dish a second time, he never proposes repeat items to me.

There was one downside to hiring him, though. After having him live in my home for two weeks during wedding celebrations and cooking four meals a day for my houseguests and family, regular restaurants were just ruined for me for a very long time. I am trying to say that I was spoiled and that I found myself wanting more out of restaurant food.

Ty does really do his thing. Where I am from we don't pay to cook for us we just have we mothers and grandmothers over and thing. But we needed Caribbean food and didn't have anyone around who we trust and a friend refer this guy to me.

He come to my house with his American accent and I told my wife to get rid of him and I left for golf. She stayed along and talked with him and when I got back she said "we hiring he".

He prepared for us different curries, Indian Carribean dishes, and a few things from my Antie recipes and I was very impressed to say the least. It's not every American that can burn up some good Caribbean dishes you know. This guy is versatile and we still have him make us up roti because not even my mother can make this dish. Who flies a Chef across the country that has no classical training, no restaurant references, and no website?

Me.

As foolish as my friends cautioned me that it was, I did it. The reason I did was that a good friend of mine working in entertainment had recently engaged Chef Ty and she just had so much to say about his demeanor, flexibility, and creativity. She is known for her pickiness so that was enough reference for me.

I had recently been reunited with an old flame and we wanted to spend a weekend together. There was a terrible snowstorm and getting dressed up everynight to go into the cold just wasnt something we were looking forward to.

So I called Chef Ty and made this insane offer. After an hour or so of conversation about the logistics of it all, the arrangements were made.

Chef Ty arrived at my house very visibly jet lagged and tired but his attitude outshone that fact.

We put together the menu. Two days of breakfast, lunch, and dinner for me and my special guest and a Sunday brunch for ten friends.

Chef Ty worked with my Housekeeper to do all of the shopping and obtain equipment that I did not have. I found out later there were a lot of complications, but he never mentioned them, she did.

Every meal was well above standard for not only what I'd expect of a Chef who I assumed was an amateur, but could hold up with other established Chefs I'd hired in the past. The main difference was his way of engaging guests. It was just so warm!

It was a great culinary experience. He really knows his way around Seafood and sauces!

When I was still visiting Los Angeles on a regular basis, I would call Chef Ty and he'd make himself available to me every time.

I haven't the need for a Private Chef anymore because that special guest and old flame cooks a lot and we're married now.

Ty saved our Thanksgiving!

We celebrate Thanksgiving on Wednesday because our children are all adults with their own families. My mother usually does all of the cooking. Everything  usually goes fine, but one year we had double the guests (40) and my mother who was eighty at the time just got two fatigued to do the cooking.

I didn't want to ask my wife or other family to do the cooking because I wanted them to be relaxed. A friend of mine said jokingly over drinks "I once had a guy finish a meal that my mother in law walked out on. You should call him."

For S&G I called this guy Chef Ty and he laughed at all of these problems that sounded so huge to me. We had a huge menu of about twenty dishes and he was familiar with all of them.

He came over that night, did most of the prep  and, at my insistence, spent the night in a guest room. I was surprised to see him up four hours later in the kitchen cooking again. By the time dinner was served at four o'clock, he and a few people he'd called for assistance were cleaning the kitchen !

We had a great meal. He declined our offer to join us in eating, but he was a classy addition to our pre-Thanksgiving get together.

My mother even signed off on it. She said that she wanted him back every year!

We were more than satisfied with using Chef Ty that year. We tried to hire him at least once every three months after that for our monthly dinner parties. Our house staff like him as much as we do.

Chef Ty thanks for saving us that day and thanks for being so cool to work with.

My family has Creole roots. I would never have expected to get such great Creole food from someone with no Creole or Louisianna heritage.

Chef Ty served us greatly by filling in for our usual private chef. Our menu was set and he gave us his version of the classics. 

Crawfish Ettouffe. White and Black Boudin Pistolettes. Clams and Oysters Bienville. Grillades on Grits. Crab Cakes with Warm Remoulade.

Every dish was just divine! Bouquet. Presentation. Texture. His food reminds me of a good perfume or whiskey. It has a beginning middle and end.

I have only used him once but jumped at the opportunity to give him a review. I can't speak on the rest of his offerings but Creole food is hard to get right and he did more than that.

His food was so incredible, seriously book him and ask for the Cajun spiced carrots - I'll be craving those for the rest of my life!

 Chef Ty was truly amazing-he curated a wonderful custom menu for the most specialist of occasions for me. 

He took strong interest in my event and spent a substantial amount of time making sure all the details were perfect. He had thoughtful suggestions and made sure that not only the food was delicious and special, but that the settings, service, flowers, printed menus, etc were all perfect. Above and beyond my expectations. 

A genuinely nice man to boot-I wish we had more time to spend talking about food and life. 5 stars! 

 Chef Ty prepared a meal to assist me in surprising my boyfriend at a resort we were visiting. 

He was prompt, personable and his food and the quality of his tableside service was off the charts. I formerly owned a restaurant and have high expectations and his food exceeded all of mine and then some. 

We started with a beautiful salad with homemade dressing, candied walnuts, gorganzola on arugula. Then main course was a perfectly prepared m-rare filet mignon (that could be cut with a butter knife) and blackened shrimp and the dessert...omygosh!!! I only eat dinner so I can justify dessert, it was amazing, lemon cream, atop toasted pound cake with sweet berries and edible flowers... My mouth is watering just remembering the flavor bursts...I highly recommend you do yourself the culinary treat of hiring Chef Ty for your next event... 

Oh and he typed up (without my asking) a menu that started with from Debi to Thomas that really touched both T and Me... What a delightful experience. 

 If you're looking for someone to cater your next company event, I highly recommend Food By Chef Ty. He knew exactly what kind of food would be ideal to serve in the company setting. He was organized and thoughtful about how to set up and display the food in the conference room. The fragrant scent of Lollipop Drumsticks and Spinach Ricotta Fettuccine was just as delicious and memorable as the warm food! 

 Chef Ty recently prepared a meal for us at a work retreat for 6 people, in a private beach home. He and his staff showed up on time and fully prepared. It was a four course meal that outshined many fine restaurants I have been to. We were able to choose our menu from many options. Service was impeccable and spot on. Everything was delicious from the appetizers to the desert. We will be having him again for sure! 

 Chef Ty has achieved the seemingly impossible. He managed to WOW our entire family of 11 adults and 2 children. He did this with his insanely delicious food, his amicable personality (along with two wonderful assistants), the delivery and presentation of the food, and the perfect combination of professionalism and fun. AND he managed to fill us all up! Not an easy task, believe me.

This occasion was for our daughter-in-law's 30th birthday, so a lot of thought and planning went into it. Chef Ty was always easy to communicate with and came up with several choice menus for us to choose from. He listened to our many (at time excessive requests) and was incredibly accommodating! He always seemed to understand exactly what we needed and came up with the ideal dish for each course. The other entire process was fun and stress-free.

Bonus. His cleaned up the kitchen so well you'd never believe such wondrous creations came out of it.

If you're looking for a Private Chef for your next occasion, look no more! It doesn't get any better than Chef Ty. I can't wait to return to the San Diego area so he can feed us again. That would be worth the trip alone! 

 Chef Ty was fantastic - each course was delicious and the entire meal was very well-paced. He served several excellent courses but I wasn't stuffed at the end of the meal because his timing was great. His personality and service made a great meal even better! Thanks, Chef Ty! 

 I can't put in words how talented Chef Ty is - you need to try his food to really understand the extent of his talent!

Chef Ty provided his services for my 30th birthday party and truly created a memorable evening for a party of 13 people. We have a variety of tastes, some picky, others with more advanced palates, and I don't know how, but he managed to wow us all. He left us wanting more and each course was somehow better than the last.

I would absolutely recommend Chef Ty for any time of gathering - in addition to being a fabulous chef, he was a blast to have around and we loved how interactive he was with our group.

Our large dinner party consisted of foodies and picky eaters - everyone genuinely loved each course. Chef Ty and his team worked seamlessly and timed the meal beautifully. We were able to enjoy each part of the meal, never feeling overwhelmed or overstuffed!

 AWESOME dinning experience! Surprised my mother with an ELEGANT dinner party for her 85th Birthday! 

Chef Ty provided everything! The 5 course meal, simply SCRUMPTIOUS  and beyond filling! Ty brought everything with him. All we had to do was have a Great time entertaining our guests! Each course was paired with the perfect selection of wine. Forgot  to mention we had 3 courses of hors d'oeuvres prior to the 5 courses! Ty provided the perfect meal and all details were handled above and beyond. Including a beautifully set table with linens and a customized menu for all my guest to see! 

Attention to DETAIL was just the icing on the cake! Appreciate the experience of someone coming to my home and preparing a gourmet meal and leaving my kitchen and Dining Room cleaner then when he arrived!  

Such a nice touch that he explained in detail each course as he presented it and why he paired the wine with each course. We didn't have to lift a finger. Was sincerely the most memorable diner party I have had. So if you haven't had a Chef come into your home and make it an EVENT you will CHERISH  forever this is a MUST! Chef Ty even took photos of the celebration. Can't wait to plan another Soirée at my home!

 Fantastic and clutch!!! 

We recently contacted Chef Ty to help us with a last minute FriendsGiving a few days before the Thanksgiving holidays and I wish we could've booked him for Thanksgiving too!! Our office decided last minute to have a potluck at the office and we contacted Chef Ty and he was able to whip together and amazingly most Turkey, stuffing/dressing and some of the most amazing gravy I've ever experienced. I'm a turkey and cranberry sauce guy, but the gravy he provide was amazing!!! The savory flavor, thickness/consistency and it just got better with every bite!!! Everyone was impressed and needless to say it was the hit of the potluck and not a bite was left!! He also went out of his way to meet us early in the morning and packaged the meal so that it would keep warm until we were ready to eat!! 

Can't wait to book him again and test his skills with another meal...I'm thinking steaks!! Next review coming soon!! With pics this time!! 

 Chef Ty cater my birthday twin sister Denise Buggs 50th Birthday and my 52nd Birthday in Carlsbad, California January 17th 2019 and he was amazing. He served a salad (baby spinach, molasses pecans, black pepper bacon, tomatoes, goat cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette), main course (pork loin creole, garlic cream grits, butter poached asparagus), and last but certainly not least dessert (sweet potato pecan pie topped with bourbon whipped cream). I highly recommend Chef Ty for your special celebrations or if you just want an excellent catered meal. Very tasty and perfect presentation. I pray God continue to bless you and your cooking skills.

 Chef Ty cooked for our executive retreat. It was fantastic. He was able to accommodate our various food limitations and present a fabulous experience. From the delicious sweet potato chips with roumulade sauce to the steak and unbelievable grits it was delicious.

He exceeded our expectations and the peach cobbler to finish...we continued to munch on those leftovers the next day!  

Way better than eating out.  Kudos! 

 I was looking for something to do for my boyfriends birthday and decided a gourmet meal at home would be a fun and unique way to celebrate. I searched Yelp for "chef at home" and feel very lucky to have found Chef Ty. 

I was grateful for all the previous positive YELP reviews that gave me the confidence to hire Ty for our special meal. From my first contact with Ty through the clean up after the meal, everything was professional and easy. I didn't have a specific meal or even type of cuisine in mind so Ty spent some time interviewing me to determine the vibe I wanted and the types of food we most enjoyed eating.  

He followed up by summarizing our conversation into a professional menu proposal that immediately had me convinced I had found the perfect Chef.  Over the next couple of weeks we finalized the details that included Ty letting himself in while we were getting a couples massage upstairs and serving us the first of seven courses with a cold beer promptly at 6pm when we came downstairs. We couldn't have been more pleased with the creativity, flavors and presentation. 

 We were looking to have a manager dinner for our company and could not find a reservation so we found chef Ty and decided to try a private chef for 10 people at home . WOW it was Fantastic!!! The food was 5 star , the best steak I have ever eating , it was a complete success , can't wait to have him cook again for us . Everybody should try him , you won't be disappointed
